Công dụng không ngờ của Hoàng liên :
Bản thân tôi là người bán trà thảo dược đã lâu năm, tôi vẫn biết tác dụng chính của củ hoàng liên là : Điều trị tiêu hoá kém, viêm dạ dày, trị oẹ khan, tả lỵ, bệnh trĩ, uống nhiều vật vã, mất ngủ, hôn mê nói cuồng. Còn dùng trị ung nhọt, sưng tấy, tai mắt sưng đau, miệng lưỡi lở, thổ huyết, chảy máu cam. hoạt chất của nó là Berberine, có phổ kháng khuẩn rộng. Bởi thế mỗi lần đường tiêu hóa của tôi có vấn đề, bụng sôi ong ỏng, tào tháo đuổi chạy không kịp là tôi lại sắc một ít hoàng liên uống 1 đến hai lần là thấy yên ổn. Nhưng có một chuyện mà cho tới nay ngẫm lại mới thấy cái tài của người dân miền núi:
Năm 2012, em gái tôi sinh một bé gái kháu khỉnh. Vì là đứa cháu đầu tiên nên 2 bên nội ngoại cưng như trứng mỏng. Hai tháng tuổi nhìn cháu thật là bụ bẫm, da trắng nõn nà, mặt tươi như hoa, trên môi của cháu lúc nào cũng nở nụ cười xinh ơi là xinh . Bỗng một ngày kia không hiểu tại sao cháu không chịu bú, không chịu chơi, cứ khóc đòi mẹ. Gia đình cho đi bác sĩ khám thì mới biết là bị đẹn lưỡi, uống thuốc rồi rơ miệng cả tháng nhưng cứ tái đi tái lại, người cháu gầy rạc đi, cha mẹ ông bà cũng héo hon từng ngày. Hết cách, tôi lật từng trang sách YHCT của thầy để lại, ôi mừng quá…thuốc quý cho cháu đây rồi, nhà có sẵn thế mà không biết. Tôi vào kho lấy ra một bọc hoàng liên, bọc hàng mà cả năm tôi không bán được bọc nào đành cất vào trong kho. Lấy ra một ít rửa sạch rồi tôi bỏ vào nồi, đổ một chén nước sắc lại còn nửa chén. Sau đó tôi mang đến cho em gái tôi kêu nó lấy 1 muỗng cà phê pha với mật ong, cho bé nhấp nhiều lần trong ngày . Phần còn lại bỏ vào tủ lạnh để dùng dần.
Thật không ngờ chỉ sau một ngày sử dụng, miệng của con bé đã sạch, hết đau, qua ngày sau bé bú lại bình thường, cái miệng xinh lại nở nụ cười tươi, ai cũng mừng. Mẹ cháu bé rơ miệng cho cháu thêm một ngày nữa rồi ngưng hẳn.
Và quả là diệu kỳ, đẹn lưỡi của cháu sạch hẳn chỉ sau một lần sử dụng hoàng liên do dì hai của cháu cho, không thấy tái phát. Tôi rất mừng vì cho dù sản phẩm của mình “bị ế” nhưng đã trị bệnh cho cháu tôi hiệu quả lại chẳng gây tác dụng phụ gì, điều mà thuốc tây không làm được.
Nhìn cháu gái xinh tươi bụ bẫm năm nay đã tròn ba tuổi đang vui chơi cùng các anh chị của chúng, tôi càng cảm thấy khâm phục và biết ơn những thầy thuốc người miền núi đã truyền lại những kinh nghiệm quý báu cho tôi để tôi góp một phần nhỏ vào việc chăm sóc sức khỏe cho người thân và cho cộng đồng.
